Christmas Jumper Day is a bit like marmite, some people love it, and some people hate it. You also get those people that secretly love receiving the Christmas Jumper Day notice, as it gives them every excuse to dress up and have a bit of fun.
This year the team at DCC wore their Christmas Jumpers and festive accessories on Friday 11th December all in aid of Save the Children. They provide vulnerable children, in the UK and across the world, access to a better life by making sure the children are happy, safe and healthy.
FACT: More than one-quarter of England’s children live in poverty.
Survive. Learn. Protect.
These are the three core elements of Save the Children’s work. Helping children survive through providing vaccinations, healthcare and nutrition. They support children with their learning, improving education throughout the early years and putting childcare high on the political agenda. The charity then works hard to protect children by supporting them when they are injured or experience horrific situations, they also work on ensuring that children have a safe place to learn and play.
Every child deserves a good upbringing to give them a solid foundation for life, and this is why we chose to support Save the Children.
The money donated will go towards helping children in poverty and provide emergency grants to those worst affected, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

How donations help:
· £17 could provide training for local health workers.
· £39 could buy handwashing kits to families to help protect themselves against COVID-19.
· £128 could buy 15 litres of disinfectant to help sanitise a medical clinic
